UA-EACC Gallery presents "Absence Presence" exhibit

The UA-EACC Gallery presents Absence Presence, an exhibition by artist Alex Jumper of Palestine, Arkansas. The exhibit will run through October 29th.    

Born in northeast Texas, Alex Jumper has carried a deep appreciation and lifelong love of art. Her interest in art began at the age of eight while taking art lessons in Texarkana, Texas. The lessons provided an early introduction to techniques and creative expression, establishing a foundation for her practice and appreciation for the arts.

Jumper earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Graphic Design and a minor in Communications from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville. Her background and study of graphic design inspires and informs her approach to composition, light, and visual storytelling. Currently, she works as a self-employed graphic designer, and artist, balancing her fine art practice with a career in visual communication.

Jumper's artistic technique explores the beauty of creation, specifically moments of transition and growth. She is inspired by a desire to understand her natural surroundings and find contentment in the unknown. "I am drawn to the quiet evidence of growth and time, things that are always changing and beginning again," said artist Alex Jumper.

In the Absence of Presence exhibit, Jumper's artwork explores the interplay of light and shadow, building rich tonal values through layering, blending, and the subtle movement between absence and presence, demonstrating the idea of the space between in art and the ways loss and disappearance can shape a narrative.

The UA-EACC Gallery is located at 1700 Newcastle Road in Forrest City. Daily hours for the Gallery are Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., or as scheduled for special group tours. There is no charge for admission.  For more information, call 870-633-4480, ext. 352.
