EastArk Secondary Center

The East Arkansas Secondary Career Center (ESCC) provides high school students with the opportunity to explore career pathways, develop workforce skills, earn industry-recognized credentials, and gain college credit while still enrolled in high school.

Students admitted through the ESCC Concurrent Enrollment Program are high school students in grades 10-12 who enroll in approved career and technical education programs of study. ESCC programs are designed to prepare students for success in both the workforce and postsecondary education while supporting local and regional workforce needs.

Students apply for ESCC participation through their high school counselor and must meet all program eligibility requirements established by UAEACC, the Arkansas Department of Education, and the Arkansas Division of Higher Education. Placement measures may include GPA, ACT, ACCUPLACER, SAT scores, previous coursework, or other approved readiness assessments.

ESCC serves public, private, and approved secondary school partners throughout the UAEACC service area.

Through partnerships with local school districts, ESCC provides students with access to career and technical education programs that may not otherwise be available at their home high school.

The East Arkansas Secondary Career Center is committed to helping students prepare for successful futures through career-focused learning opportunities.

Students explore careers based on their interests, aptitudes, and goals. Exposure to career fields helps students make informed decisions regarding future education and employment opportunities.

Programs provide technical skills and workplace training aligned with industry standards. Students may earn professional certifications, certificates of proficiency, technical certificates, and college credit that support immediate workforce entry or continued education.

Many ESCC programs provide concurrent college credit through UAEACC. Students can begin earning college credentials while completing high school, reducing both the time and cost required to complete a certificate or degree after graduation.

ESCC encourages students to develop the academic, technical, and professional skills necessary for success in college, the workforce, military service, and other postsecondary pathways.
